Workshop Description:
Drawing is one of the oldest means of visual expression and has transcended history as a primary way to learn how to perceive and represent the orders of nature. In this course, artists will learn to methodically analyze the light that falls on volumes within dimensional space. Participants will use graphite to study the proportions, osseous landmarks, and muscular design of the head and shoulders. The class will conclude with a drawing that effectively expresses the light effect and likeness of the model. Each day will begin with individual critiques, and the instructor will provide demonstrations as the class progresses.
